CONNECTIONS OF CREATIVITY
I made this piece at my first ever live painting event. I had the pleasure of making art with Art Night AZ at the Grand Ave Festival in Phoenix Arizona. I knew I wanted to make a piece that was big, colorful, and showcased the power of creativity and connection.
Back home in Minnesota, my friends and I started an art club, we meet every Wednesday. The goal: make art together! Making art with other people can push your creativity to a level you never even knew. Watching other people make art inspires me. I was always in such awe of the art my friends would make, and the ideas they had. Art club gave me the confidence to make art the way I want; art club gave me the confidence to live life the way I want. I am forever grateful to that group of friends who love art and each other oh so much.
The day of this painting was full of energy, music, and art. The sun was HOT, another painter lent me un umbrella. I was set up right next to the speakers. Throughout the day the music was crazy, it wasn’t a genre I would normally listen to but I was vibing. There were at least a dozen other painters set up working on so many different projects. I had no plan for my painting. Planning isn’t something I do often in my art. I let creativity drive all aspect of my work, from material, to technique, and even the finished product. On this day I was feeling the creativity, it was in the air. This is what I painted. CONNECTIONS OF CREATIVITY. Even though I spent most of the day buried in my paints, the connection made with the other artist through their energy and even just watching them work for a moment are invigorating and inspiring.
If you are ever wanting to further your creativity, try finding someone to be creative with, their ideas, and the way they come up with them may inspire you.
