IS THIS WINTER?

Spending winter in the desert is kinda weird.

I’m from Minnesota, and oh do we have winter. Every year from nov-apr the world gets covered in a think layer of snow, the air becomes frigid, and the days short. And while it has gotten cooler here in Arizona, I find myself asking IS THIS WINTER? Its throwing off my internal clock to loose a season that had been so prominent in my life.

The seasons can symbolize different phases in life. In winter things slow down. Far away from the sun it gets cold. Excitement and ambition diminishes. This is a time to rest, reflection, and letting go. It’s easy to feel sad in the winter. But the seasons are important, you need all of them to complete the endless cycles that we experience throughout life. The cycles allow for constant growth and rebirth of the self.

So how will I feel after this winter in the desert? Thats the question that remains unanswered.
